What started as a middle school friendship turned into a dream come true.

We're Zoe and Molly Elizabeth—best friends since our awkward middle school days, long before online shopping carts, inventory spreadsheets, and boutique life. Through every season of life, we've always been each other's biggest cheerleaders.

After graduating high school, our paths took us in different directions. Zoe headed to New York City for college and later became a teacher, while Molly Elizabeth pursued a career in Human Resources. As life unfolded, Molly chose to become a stay-at-home mom, and Zoe traded the classroom for life as a nanny.

Even though miles separated us, our daily FaceTime calls never stopped. Between nap schedules, snack breaks, and endless conversations about fashion, family, and dreams, one of those calls sparked an idea that would change everything.

And just like that, Ruex & Rose was born. ✨

Today, we're living our dream together—bringing thoughtfully curated styles to women who love feeling confident, beautiful, and a little extra feminine. Zoe manages all things online, making sure your virtual shopping experience is seamless and fun, while Molly Elizabeth brings the magic to our brick-and-mortar boutique, creating a welcoming space you'll love visiting.

Why Ruex & Rose? 🌸✨

One of the questions we get asked most often is, "Where did the name Ruex & Rose come from?"

The answer is simple: it comes from our two favorite girls.

Ruex's real name is Sadalynn (or Sadie, as most people know her). She's Molly Elizabeth's daughter and Zoe's goddaughter. When Sadie was little, she went through a phase where she was completely obsessed with Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. It was the only movie she wanted to watch—and she made sure everyone knew it!

Because of her endless requests and adorable little whiny moments, Molly Elizabeth started teasingly calling her "Veruca," after Veruca Salt from the movie. Over time, Veruca became Ruekey, and somehow Ruekey became Ruex. The nickname stuck, and today she's lovingly known by almost everyone as Ruex.

When it came time to name our boutique, we knew it had to be something meaningful. Since Zoe and Molly Elizabeth have been best friends for years, it only seemed fitting to name the store after Ruex's best friend too—our beloved dog, Rose.

Rose is our beautiful Golden Husky, our constant sidekick, and honestly the unofficial mascot of everything we do. She's been there for the planning sessions, the dreaming, the late-night conversations, and all the excitement that came with building this business.

So, Ruex & Rose isn't just a boutique name—it's a story about friendship, family, unconditional love, and the special bonds that inspire us every day.
